The Jim Flynn Outstanding Corporation Award is given annually to recognize and honor the corporation considered to have made the most significant contributions to NALMS goals and objectives. Celebrating its 60th anniversary, Aquarius Systems is proud to be the Jim Flynn award winner for 2024.
Aquarius Systems supports 21 organizations, including NALMS and various lake associations, to help maintain water health across multiple states. The company is celebrating its 60th anniversary and has renewed its focus on marine debris removal, with increased demand for Trash Skimmers and new equipment for smaller rivers and streams. They also share valuable environmental information through their website and newsletters, addressing issues like PFAS, invasive species, and plastic pollution.
In addition to their environmental efforts, Aquarius Systems is committed to fostering future leaders in science and policy. The company helped college students with an AI aquatic plant identification project and advocated against a proposed policy change in Wisconsin that would have increased harvesting permit costs. Their efforts resulted in the cancellation of the proposal. Jane Dauffenbach, a long-time NALMS member, continues to support the organization’s growth, ensuring its future success.
Jane Dauffenbach, President of Aquarius Systems, shared, “We are honored to receive the Jim Flynn Outstanding Corporation Award from the North American Lake Management Society at the 2024 symposium! This award, named in memory of a dear friend and longtime NALMS supporter, recognizes his selfless service to the community. Jim was also an early mentor to us, inspiring us to follow his example. Thank you, NALMS!”
